The properties panel

Select a point on the map or in the points list, it opens in the viewer so you always see what you are working on, then press its Properties button to open the panel on the right: the name, the photo, position data, and how the point behaves in the tour.

Position data

Every point keeps its Position Data: where the camera stood, the recorded heading, accuracy, capture time, and the photo dimensions. It lives inside the point’s properties, open the accordion to see it. You rarely need it, but when a point sits wrong on the map, this is where the evidence is.

In properties, List this point in the Navigate menu makes the point selectable as a destination in the tour’s Navigate panel. Leave it off for ordinary walking points; turn it on for places people actually want to reach, entrances, fields, buildings, amenities.

Replacing a photo

In properties you can replace the photo at a point, upload a new 360 photo, or pick from images already uploaded to your cloud. The point keeps its position, connections, and tags; only the imagery changes.

Deleting

The red Delete button at the bottom of properties opens a dedicated menu with a Back button and three clearly separated options, so you always know exactly how much you are removing: Delete Image clears the photo and keeps the point as a placeholder, Delete Point removes the point but keeps its photo file in storage, and Delete Point + Image removes both.

The editor walks like the tour

Click a floor tag in the editor’s photo view and you arrive facing the way you walked, the same behaviour visitors get in the tour, so what you see while building is what they will see. The satellite map follows you to each point as you travel, and if you have switched on Hold map still, the editor respects that and leaves your map exactly where you parked it.

Adding Points

Press Add Point and click the satellite map right where the new point belongs. The pin drops there and joins your points list immediately. A new point starts blank, open its Properties to attach a 360 photo, link Google Street View, or send visitors to another tour. Until it has content it simply sits on the map waiting.

Adjust Image

Open a point, then slide Brightness, Contrast, and Colour to tune how its photo reads in the tour. It is a live preview stored with the point, the original photo file is never touched, so 100% always brings back exactly what the camera saw. Reset clears the point, and Apply to all points carries the same look across the whole tour.

Brightness

Brightness lightens or darkens the open point's photo, from 50 percent (half as bright) to 150 percent (half again brighter). 100 percent is the photo exactly as shot. This is a live display filter painted over the panorama: the photo file itself is never changed, re-encoded or re-uploaded, so sliding back to 100 is always a perfect restore.

Open a point, open the Adjust Image drawer (it switches you to the 360 view automatically), and drag the slider. The preview updates live while you drag and the readout shows the percentage; the value is saved to the tour when you release. The filter tints only the photo: hotspots, floor tags and other overlays keep their true colors.

Use it on points shot in dim rooms or against bright windows. 105 to 120 percent rescues most dark interiors. Avoid pushing far past 130: bright windows blow out to white before the shadows recover. The adjustment applies to this point only; use Apply to all points to push the same look tour-wide. Waypoints have no photo and cannot be adjusted.

Contrast

Contrast stretches or flattens the difference between the darkest and brightest parts of the open point's photo, from 50 to 150 percent. 100 percent is the photo as shot. Like the other two sliders it is a display filter only: the photo file is untouched, and 100 percent restores the original exactly.

Drag for a live preview; the readout shows the value and it saves when you let go. Overlays on top of the photo (hotspots, floor tags) are not affected, only the panorama itself.

Raise it 105 to 115 percent to cut through hazy or washed-out captures, common with overcast exterior shots. Lower it slightly if harsh midday sun left the photo with crushed black shadows. Big moves in either direction look artificial fast, so keep changes small and check a few angles by dragging the pano around before moving on.

Colour

Colour controls how intense the colors in the open point's photo are, from 0 percent (fully black and white) through 100 percent (as shot) up to 200 percent (double intensity). It is a live display filter over the panorama; the photo file is never modified, and returning to 100 restores the original exactly.

Drag for a live preview, release to save. The readout shows the current percentage. Only the photo is tinted; tags and hotspots keep their own colors.

A small boost, 105 to 115 percent, makes grass, sky and interiors pop without looking fake. Anything past about 140 starts to posterize skin tones and wood. Zero is a legitimate creative choice if you want a deliberate black and white point, for example a historical photo stop. As with the other sliders, this is per point until you use Apply to all points.

Reset

Reset returns Brightness, Contrast and Colour to 100 percent for the open point in one click, which is the photo exactly as shot. Because adjustments are display-only, this is a true restore, not an approximation. When all three values are back at 100 the editor stores nothing at all on the point, keeping the tour data clean.

Click it any time the combination has drifted somewhere you do not like; it beats dragging three sliders back by hand. There is no confirmation and no undo prompt, but re-creating an adjustment is just moving the sliders again.

Reset touches only the open point. To wipe adjustments across the whole tour, first Reset this point, then click Apply to all points: with the sliders at default, that button switches to clearing every point's adjustment.

Apply to all points

Apply to all points copies the open point's Brightness, Contrast and Colour values onto every point that has a photo. Waypoints are skipped since they have nothing to adjust. A confirmation dialog states the exact number of points before anything happens, and reminds you that no photo files are changed: these are preview values you can undo by resetting.

There is one twist worth knowing: if the open point is sitting at defaults (all three sliders at 100), the same button clears the adjustment from every point instead of applying one. The confirmation message tells you which of the two it is about to do, so read it before clicking OK.

Use it when the whole capture session shares the same lighting problem, a cloudy-day shoot that needs the same brightness lift everywhere, for example. Set one representative point, check it from a few angles, then push it tour-wide. You can still fine-tune individual points afterwards; later per-point changes override the copied values.

Adjustment counter

The line at the bottom of the drawer, for example "6 of 32 points have an adjustment", is a computed readout. The first number counts points currently storing slider values different from 100/100/100. The second is the total number of points that have a photo (waypoints are not counted). The line only appears when at least one point is adjusted; if you see nothing there, the whole tour is at factory values.

You cannot click it, but it updates every time you release a slider, Reset a point, or run Apply to all points, so it is the quickest way to confirm a tour-wide apply or clear actually reached every point.

Check it before publishing. A stray "1 of 32" usually means a test adjustment was left behind on some point during editing; step through your points or apply a deliberate tour-wide setting to bring everything in line.

Back

Back closes the Adjust Image drawer. Your adjustments stay exactly as you left them: each slider value was saved the moment you released it, so closing the drawer never loses work, and the photo keeps its adjusted look in both the editor and the published tour.

Click it when the point looks right. Reopening the drawer later shows the stored values for whichever point is open at that moment. Opening the drawer also flips the editor to the 360 view automatically so you can see what you are adjusting.

Add Point

Add Point arms a one-shot placement mode. The editor switches to the map view if it is hidden, the cursor becomes a crosshair, and an orange bar appears at the top of the screen. Your next click on the map creates a brand-new point at that exact spot. The new point takes the next free number (highest existing number plus one, numbers are frozen labels so gaps are allowed), and both its phone and camera positions are written at the pin and pinned, so no automatic process can move it later.

To use it: press Add Point, click the map where the point belongs, done. The editor immediately selects the new point and opens its Properties panel so you can attach its photo right away, either by uploading or by picking from the tour's cloud files. Until a photo is attached the point is a placeholder: it holds its place in the walk order and on the map but shows no panorama.

Press Esc or the Cancel (Esc) button in the orange bar to leave the mode without creating anything. If the new point lands closer than 40 feet to an existing point you get a warning, because points that close together can confuse GPS auto-select in the walking tour.

Use it for photos shot without a recorded position, for stragglers captured after the main walk, or to stake out a spot before its photo exists. If you only need to move an existing point, use Move Points instead.

Moving a point

The Move Points menu unlocks every pin on the map. Drag one where it belongs and let go: it saves the moment you drop it, and the walking line and every connection redraw to follow. Close the menu and the pins lock again, so nothing moves by accident while you are doing something else.

For small corrections a drag is clumsy. Open the point and press M. The arrow keys then move it one foot a press, Shift with an arrow moves it ten feet, Enter saves it where it sits, and Esc puts it back with nothing saved. The keyboard writes nothing until you press Enter, so you can nudge as much as you like and still change your mind.

Either way the move is a single undo step: Ctrl+Z puts the point back where it was. The Add Point button that used to sit in this menu is gone. Points come from Import Panos, from Detour Points when you are shaping a route, and from Street View.

Cancel (Esc)

Cancel (Esc) sits in the orange bar that appears while Add Point mode is armed. Clicking it, or pressing the Esc key, leaves the mode: the crosshair cursor returns to normal, the bar disappears, and no point is created.

Nothing you did before arming the mode is affected. Use it whenever you armed Add Point by accident or changed your mind about where the point should go. If you already clicked the map, the point was created, so remove it from its Properties panel instead.

Move Points

Move Points toggles pin dragging. On: the Move Points menu opens, the map is shown if it was hidden, and every point pin on the map unlocks so you can grab and drag it. Off (press the button again, or its Back button): pins lock so a stray drag can never move a point.

To move a point, drag its pin and release. While dragging, the walking line and connection lines follow live. On release the move saves locally and to the cloud, the position is pinned so no automatic snap or re-import can undo your drag, and a history entry is written so undo can restore it. Which position you edit depends on the GPS source the map is showing: dragging a phone dot moves the phone position and re-runs walk fusion, dragging a camera dot moves the camera position directly.

Two warnings can pop after a move. If the point lands under 40 feet from a neighbor you are told, because points that close can confuse GPS auto-select. If the point's phone and camera positions disagree by roughly 100 feet or more you get a heads-up that the shot probably hugged a wall or facade, which bounces GPS, and re-pinning is the fix.

Use Move Points to correct GPS drift after an import, to tidy a walk line, or to confirm estimated positions (hollow orange pins) by dragging them. Lock the pins again when you are done. Note that while Move Points is on, the separate drag-a-pin-into-a-group gesture is disabled: dragging always moves the point.

Back (Move Points)

Back at the top of the Move Points menu closes the menu and re-locks every pin on the map, exactly the same as pressing the Move Points rail button a second time. A short confirmation toast tells you the points are locked.

Every move you already made is saved, closing the menu never loses work. Get in the habit of closing it as soon as you finish repositioning: locked pins cannot be nudged by an accidental drag while you pan the map.

Point row

Each row in the Points list is one point: its tag icon, display name, capture time and session, plus badges when they apply (an eraser icon means the photo has Magic Erase edits, a crossed-GPS icon means the point has no spot on the map yet, and ≈ means its position is an unconfirmed estimate). Clicking a row loads the point into the 360 viewer, centers the map on its pin, and reveals the row's Properties and History buttons. This works both ways: opening a point from anywhere (a map pin, a tag walk, Route Check) scrolls the list to its row.

Rows are draggable, and a drag does one of two things. Dragged over another row, an orange line shows where it will land: upper half inserts above, lower half inserts below. Dropping reorders the walk: the new order saves locally and to the cloud and writes a history entry. Only the order changes, every point keeps its frozen number and name.

Dragged onto a group header instead, the point is added to that group. If the dragged point is part of a multi-selection made with Categorize Points, the entire selection joins the group in one drop.

Use reorder-by-drag when the capture order does not match the walk you want visitors to take. Use drop-into-group to organize the list once a tour grows past a couple dozen points.

Properties

Properties appears on the selected row. It loads the point into the 360 viewer and switches the right panel to the Properties tab, where the point's name, photo, category, group, and connections live.

Clicking the row body already loads the point; this button saves you the extra click of switching to the Properties tab. Use it whenever you are heading straight for an edit: renaming, replacing the photo, or changing what the point connects to.

History

History opens the edit-history window for this point's photo. It lists the original untouched photo first, then every Magic Erase edit in order, newest last. If nothing has ever been edited it says so plainly.

Each version has a revert action: click it to swap the live photo back to that version, including all the way back to the original. Before a revert runs, the current image is backed up to the cloud when connected, and the revert itself is recorded in history, so you can step forward again. The small x on an edit drops that entry from the list without touching the live photo.

Use History whenever a Magic Erase pass went too far or removed the wrong thing. If the original backup is missing (backups start the first time a photo is edited), the window points you to Properties, where the cloud file picker can restore the right photo.

Group header

Group headers sit at the top of the Points list, one per group, showing the group's color swatch, name, and a count. The count is the number of points currently in the group that appear in this list. Groups render before ungrouped points.

Click the header body to reveal its Group settings button underneath; click again to hide it. Only one header shows its actions at a time, opening one closes the others. The chevron on the left and the gear on the right are separate controls with their own jobs.

The header is also a drop target. Drag a point row from the list, or a pin straight off the map, onto the header: it highlights, shows a small add-points hint, and dropping assigns the point to the group. If the dragged point belongs to a multi-selection from Categorize Points, the whole selection is added in one drop.

Group chevron (show / hide points)

The chevron collapses or expands the group: collapsed, the group's point rows are hidden from the list and only the header line remains; expanded, they show beneath it. This is purely a list view control, nothing about the tour, the map, or routing changes.

The collapsed state is remembered per group on this device and survives a reload. Opening a point that lives in a collapsed group (for example by clicking its map pin) auto-expands the group so its row can be highlighted and scrolled into view.

Collapse groups you are not working on to keep long tours manageable. The Collapse groups and Expand groups controls above the list flip every group at once.

Group gear

The gear on the right edge of a group header opens that group's settings panel directly: rename it, change its color, set its category and Navigate behavior, manage members, and pick custom icons.

It does the same thing as the Group settings button that appears when you click the header, just without the reveal step. Use whichever you land on; the gear is the fast path when you already know you are heading into settings.

Group settings

Group settings is the full-width action revealed when you click a group header. It opens the group's settings panel: name, color, category, Navigate behavior, members, and custom icons.

It is identical in effect to the gear icon on the header's right edge. It exists so the action is unmissable once a header is selected, especially on touch screens where the small gear is easy to miss.

Needs Placing point chip

The Needs Placing strip appears above the Points list only when at least one point has no position from any source: no phone GPS, no camera GPS, no legacy coordinates. The header counts them ("N points need placing · no GPS"), and each chip names one of those points. The strip shows up to the first 40 chips.

Click a chip to load that point into the viewer. Because the point is unplaced, the no-GPS pill appears over the map with two ways forward: Estimate its spot from its neighbours, or Place on map to click its exact location yourself.

Work the chips one at a time when you know where each photo was taken, or skip straight to Estimate all missing below the chips to place everything at once and then fine-tune. The strip disappears on its own once every point has a position.

Estimate all missing (N)

Estimate all missing places every point that has no position, in one pass. The number in the label is how many points currently need placing. Each missing point is interpolated along the walk between its nearest located neighbours: capture timestamps refine the split when all three are sane and in order, otherwise the split is even by list position. Points at the head or tail of the walk project outward along the nearest located segment, capped at three steps, so a long missing run never shoots off the map.

Estimates arrive as hollow orange pins. They are deliberately provisional: only the camera position is written, marked estimated and left unpinned, so a later re-import that carries real GPS can still correct them, and an unconfirmed estimate is never used as an anchor for other estimates, so guesses cannot chain into a drifting mess. Drag any estimated pin to its true spot to confirm it, the drag pins it for good.

If there are not enough located neighbours to work from, nothing is placed and a message says so; place one or two anchor points by hand first, then run it again. The whole pass writes a single history entry, so undo reverses all of it at once.

Recommended flow: run Estimate all missing first, then scan the map and drag the hollow orange pins that look off. It is far faster than clicking every point into place by hand.

Estimate (no-GPS pill)

Estimate on the no-GPS pill places just the open point, using the same interpolation as Estimate all: its located neighbours along the walk decide the spot, timestamps refine it when they are trustworthy.

The pin arrives hollow orange, marked as an estimate and unpinned. Drag it to confirm the exact location, or leave it if it looks right, a later re-import with real GPS can still improve an unconfirmed estimate. The action writes a history entry, so undo restores the unplaced state.

Use Estimate when the point sits mid-walk between well-located neighbours. If it is at the very start or end of the walk, or its neighbours are also missing, prefer Place on map and click the true spot yourself.

Place on map

Place on map arms a one-shot placement for the open point. The map comes up if hidden, the cursor becomes a crosshair, and your very next click on the map drops the point at that exact spot, then disarms. Press Esc to cancel before clicking.

A manual placement is treated as the truth: both the phone and camera positions are written at the click and pinned, so nothing, not a re-import, not fusion, not an estimate pass, will ever move it without you dragging the pin yourself. That is the difference from Estimate, which stays soft and correctable.

After placing, a history entry is written and you can still fine-tune by dragging the pin (unlock pins with Move Points first). Use Place on map whenever you actually know where the photo was taken, it beats an estimate every time.

Dismiss (no-GPS pill)

The on the no-GPS pill hides it and disarms click-to-place if it was armed. Nothing else changes: the point stays unplaced, keeps its crossed-GPS badge in the Points list, and keeps its chip in the Needs Placing strip.

Use it to get the pill out of the way while you work on something else. The pill returns automatically the next time you open an unplaced point.

Room

Every point starts life as a Pathway: routing may pass through it on the way to somewhere else. Checking Room flips the open point to a destination endpoint: routing treats it as a place you go TO, not through, and it becomes available in the destination picker so visitors can navigate to it by name. The panel's label updates from Pathway to Room immediately.

Unchecking returns the point to a plain Pathway and removes it from the destination list. The change saves at once, locally and to the cloud, no separate save step.

Mark Rooms for the actual destinations of the tour, a shop, an exhibit, an office, the summit lookout. Leave hallways, sidewalks, and trail points as Pathway so routes can flow through them. Flagging too many points as Rooms clutters the visitor's destination menu without helping navigation.

Name

The Name field holds this point's custom name. It shows only a name you typed; if the point has never been renamed the field is empty and the grey placeholder shows its canonical label, like Point 27. There is exactly one name per point, and it is used everywhere at once: the Build list, the tag rows, the labels on the photo, the map, and the published tour.

Type the name and pause: it saves about a third of a second after you stop typing, and again the moment you click away. Names are trimmed and capped at 60 characters. To remove a custom name, clear the field: the point falls back to its Point N label. Typing automatic text like Point 27 or Stop 27 counts as clearing, the editor refuses to store a fake custom name.

Name the points a visitor would search for: Office, Pool, Cabin 12. Keep it short, the same text appears on small tag captions in the photo. Every rename is recorded in the tour history, so an accidental rename can be undone from there.

Section headers (Panorama Image · Navigation · Position Data)

Each bold header in the Properties panel (Panorama Image, Navigation, Position Data) is a clickable accordion. Click once to open the section, click again to collapse it. The small caret on the left shows the current state.

All sections start collapsed when you first open the editor. Once you open one, the panel remembers it: the same sections stay open as you click from point to point, for the rest of this editing session. The memory is per session, it is not saved with the tour.

Keep only the section you are working in open. The panel is easier to scan, and Position Data in particular is long on points with full GPS evidence.

Image status readout

This read-only line reports the point's photo state. ✓ Image present means a real panorama is stored for this point. ⚠ No image (placeholder) means the point exists on the map with its position, name, and settings intact, but has no photo, so the tour cannot show anything here yet.

You cannot click it; it changes on its own when you add, replace, or delete the photo below. A placeholder point is not broken: its GPS and pose survive, and the moment you add an image it becomes a normal point again.

Before publishing, walk the point list and make sure nothing you care about still reads placeholder. Route Check will also flag navigation problems, but only this readout tells you a photo is missing.

Original file readout

The Original file line records the filename of the photo currently on this point, exactly as it was named when it was added (for example GS012345.JPG from a GoPro card). It updates whenever you replace the image.

Photos added before this bookkeeping existed show not recorded (photo added before r58). That is only a gap in the record, the photo itself is fine.

Use it to settle any is-this-the-right-photo question: match the name against your camera's memory card or your capture notes. If two points seem to share a photo, comparing their Original file lines is the fastest proof.

Replace Image / Add Image

Replace Image (labeled Add Image when the point is a placeholder) puts a new panorama on this point. Click it and a file picker opens; only JPG files are accepted, pick the 360 photo straight from your camera or export.

The swap is immediate: the photo becomes this point's panorama, the original filename is recorded, the viewer and the thumbnail refresh, and the file uploads to the tour's cloud storage so every device gets it. The status line below reports progress: Uploading new image, then ✓ Image replaced, or a red failure message if the upload broke.

Use it when a point got the wrong photo or a better re-shoot exists on your computer. If the photo you want is already somewhere in this tour's storage, use Cloud photos instead and skip the re-upload. Only this point changes, nothing else in the tour is touched.

Cloud photos

☁ Cloud photos opens a picker listing every photo file in this tour's cloud storage, including files that belong to deleted points and orphan files no current point uses. It exists for one job: when a point is wearing the wrong picture, the right one is almost always still in storage.

The list is ranked for you: this point's own file first, then files from a deleted point whose name matches this one, then likely matches that share this point's id ending, then other deleted-point files, then orphans, then files in use by other points. Each row carries a badge saying which of those it is, and the top four candidates load their pictures automatically. Press Preview on any other row to see it.

Press Use this photo and confirm: the point's current photo is backed up to cloud storage first, so the swap is reversible, then the chosen file becomes this point's panorama everywhere. If the list will not load, the tour has no cloud session on this device; open the tour from the dashboard and try again.

History

🕘 History opens the edit history for this point's photo. The list starts with the Original photo (the untouched image before any edit) followed by one row per edit, newest last, each with its date and time. Edits appear here whenever the photo is changed by tools like Magic Erase.

Press Revert on any row to go back to that version. Before reverting, the current photo is backed up to cloud storage, so a revert is itself reversible from this same list. The ✕ on a row only drops that entry from the history list, it does not change the photo.

One honest limit: the Original backup is created the first time a photo is edited. A point whose photo was never edited has no original backup, and reverting will tell you so; in that case use Cloud photos to pick the right file instead.

Undo Erase · restore original

↩ Undo Erase appears only when this point's current photo carries a Magic Erase edit. It fetches the untouched original from the cloud backup that was made before the first erase, puts it back on the point, re-uploads it as the current photo, and refreshes the viewer and thumbnails.

It needs a cloud session for this tour; if the original backup cannot be found you get a clear message and nothing changes. The backup exists for any photo that has been edited at least once.

Use it when an erase went too far and you want a clean slate. If you only want to step back one edit rather than all the way to the original, use History instead and revert to the exact version you want.

Image operation status line

This line is hidden until you run a photo operation from this panel, then it narrates it: Uploading new image, Deleting image, ✓ Image replaced, ✓ Image deleted, or the exact failure reason in red.

It is a readout only. If it shows a red failure, the operation did not complete: fix the cause (usually connectivity or a missing cloud session) and run it again. A ✓ message means the change is saved and uploaded, safe to move on.

Group dropdown

The Navigation dropdown assigns this point to one of your groups, or to No group. Groups are the master control in StrollPoint: the group decides whether this point is a travel point or part of a destination, and which tag icon it wears. A point lives in exactly one group, so picking a group here automatically pulls it out of any other.

Pick a group and the change lands immediately: the point inherits the group's icon and settings, the map overlays repaint, the tag drawer refreshes, and the tour state saves. Pick No group and the point is removed from every group; any group left with zero points is dropped. Ungrouped points behave as invisible walking points until you group them or flag them below.

Recommendation: group every point. Travel points along a path belong in a travel group; the points of a place (an office, a cabin, a pavilion) belong in that place's group. Fine-grained group settings, entrances, Navigate mode, icon, live in the group's own panel, this dropdown only decides membership.

List this point in the Navigate menu

List this point in the Navigate menu is the switch that decides whether a point is a destination. On means a visitor can pick it by name in the tour’s Navigate menu and be routed there. Off means the point is walking fabric: still part of the paths, never offered as somewhere to go.

This switch is the only rule. Nothing overrides it, and nothing else can quietly add a point to the menu behind your back. If a point is listed, it is because this is on; if it is not listed, this is off.

To turn on a whole area at once, use the All destinations switch on the group in the Points list. It simply flips this same switch on every point in the group, so the two always agree and you can still turn an individual point back off afterwards.

Position Data

Position Data is the point's positioning evidence, read-only, exactly what the map logic uses. The badges at the top tell you where the live position came from: HAND-SET (you pinned it by hand in the field), CHAIN (a calibrated chain position), or GPS (raw phone GPS), plus PINNED when you have pinned the dot on the map in the editor.

The rows, when recorded: Map position is the live coordinate with its accuracy in feet (± ft). Camera GPS is what the 360 camera stamped, with its heading in degrees or hdg NONE. Hand-set (field), Chain (calibrated), and Raw phone GPS are the individual evidence sources behind the badges. North source says how north was derived: movement (final or provisional) or a compass hint. Aligned means a field calibration auto-snapped it. Walk names the capture walk it came from. Image is the photo's pixel size, Heading is the facing in degrees (marked hand-aligned when you set it yourself), and Captured is the shot's date and time.

Nothing here is editable, that is deliberate: fix positions by dragging the dot on the map, and fix headings with the alignment tools. Read this section when a tag or arrow lands somewhere strange, it tells you which evidence the map believed. A point can also honestly say no position data was recorded.

Delete Image / Point

The red Delete Image / Point button does not delete anything by itself. It swaps the Properties panel to a chooser with a Back button and the three delete options, so you always pick exactly what goes.

Deleting a point is soft: it moves to the Deleted list, where a ↺ Restore button can bring it back, and it shows as a red marker on the map while that list is open. What happens to the photo file depends on the option you pick, so read all three before clicking.

Delete Image clears only the photo, Delete Point removes the point but keeps its photo file in storage, Delete Point + Image removes both.

Back (delete chooser)

Back returns you to the normal Properties form. Nothing has been deleted, the chooser makes no changes until you pick one of the three options and confirm its dialog.

Use it freely; opening the chooser just to read the options is safe.

Delete Image

🗑 Delete Image removes only the panorama. After a confirmation dialog, the photo is cleared from the point and its cloud copy is removed; the point itself stays in the tour as a placeholder with its GPS, name, number, and settings intact.

The status line reports the result, and the image status readout flips to ⚠ No image (placeholder). You can put a new photo on the point at any time with Add Image or Cloud photos.

Use it when a photo is wrong or unusable but the point's position is right, for example while you wait on a re-shoot. If you want the point gone too, use one of the two options below instead.

Delete Point

⊘ Delete Point removes this one point from the tour after a confirmation dialog. Every other point is untouched: names, numbers, and settings never shift, numbers are frozen labels, so a gap in the numbering after a delete is correct and expected.

The photo file is deliberately left in cloud storage so it can be recovered later through Cloud photos on any point. The deletion is durable: a tombstone is written so a merged or cloud copy of the tour cannot resurrect the point, the point is scrubbed from every other point's connections, it lands in the Deleted list with a ↺ Restore button (and shows as a red marker on the map while that list is open), and the removal saves to the cloud immediately rather than on the usual delay.

This is the right delete for a duplicate or misfired capture. If you are also certain the photo belongs to no other point, use Delete Point + Image to clean up storage too.

Delete Point + Image

⊘ Delete Point + Image does everything Delete Point does, and also purges the photo file from cloud storage. After this, the picture cannot be recovered from the Cloud photos picker.

There is one built-in safety: if another surviving point could be resolving to the same photo file (they share the same file id ending), the file is kept and a toast tells you which point may still be using it. That guard exists because purging a shared file would silently blank the other point's photo.

Use it for photos that should truly disappear, a bad shot, a privacy problem, storage cleanup. When in doubt, use plain Delete Point; storage is cheap and recovery is not.
